Cyberethics refers to the study of ethics with respect to computer networks, encompassing behavior of the users of these tools, and the effects on individuals and society. These can differ depending on the environment of the person using the information, whether it is K-12, higher education, or the workplace. Computer usage has been on rise since an earlier prediction in 1940 that no more than six computers would ever be needed or built. Over the years the computers have been developed and in the present day and age it has led to the convergence of information from different sources aided by the internet. We are now at a point where most of the activities are performed via the internet and with that are issues that do need to be addressed to ensure use and interaction with others in the same environment(s) is done responsibly. We are taught in everyday life the rules of how to observe and discern right or wrong actions, each associated with certain consequences. The same should be applied when in cyberspace. This is why teaching cyberethics at K-12 levels is needed now more than ever.
